Yes. In Nevada, you can take the baby to one of the legal locations mentioned above and leave the baby inside of the building unharmed, in a safe place where the babys life will not be endangered. Then you must immediately call the same legal location where you left the baby and tell them exactly where the baby is. Remember it must be a very, very safe area for the baby. If you do not call afterward, you have abandoned your baby illegally and you will be prosecuted.
HOW OLD CAN THE BABY BE?
The Safe Haven Law, for the state of Nevada, requires the baby must not be more than 30days old.
DO I NEED ID, A BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR OTHER DOCUMENTS FOR ME OR THE BABY?
NO! No documents are needed.
MY CHILD IS OLDER THAN 30 DAYS, I DONT WANT HIM/HER WHAT SHOULD I DO?
First do not harm the child and dont leave the child unattended, call Child Protective Services and go for counseling.
SUPPOSE I CHANGE MY MIND AND I WANT MY BABY BACK, WHAT THEN?
You only have a limited time to reclaim your baby, after that all of your rights to that child are terminated as the mother/parent. If you decide that you want your baby back you should contact Child Protective Services immediately, the longer you wait the less likely youll get the baby back. If you have changed your mind you must try to get the baby back as soon as possible, almost immediately; don't wait weeks or months. You also must have given your address at the time of abandonment because by not doing so you have given up any and all parental rights and chances to ever to seeing your child again!
